DON’T CROSS LACEY

- BY GARRY OWEN

NEVILLE’S CROSS (3.30) can maintain Tom Lacey’s blistering start to the jump season at Warwick.

The hurdler put in another personal best when defeating Little Jack at Uttoxeter.

The five-year-old remains nicely unexposed as a stayer so ought to defy a 9lb hike in another trappy contest.

DIAMOND RIVER (1.45) can sparkle for Nicky Henderson in the novices’ hurdle. The five-year-old easily landed his bumper at Uttoxeter and has scope to be better over timber.

JABOTICABA (2.20) should deservedly open his account over fences for Alan King.

The gelding is open to progress after his third to Top Decision in hotter company at Doncaster in March.

Dan Skelton stands to bag his customary winner at this venue with GETAWAY MAG (2.55). The mare looks poised to build on her impressive defeat of Precious Eleanor at Doncaster in February.

NORTHERN BOUND (4.05) is a confident selection in the conditional riders’ chase.

Ben Pauling’s charge ran a stormer when second to the talented Captain Speaking on debut at Uttoxeter and can put the experience to good use.

Jonjo O’Neill is hitting peak form so it’s worth rowing in with YOUNG WOLF (4.40).

The gelding bolted up on his chase debut at Uttoxeter then followed home Princeton Royale over 2m 6f at Stratford.

That race is working out fairly well so the seven-year-old should triumph back up in trip.

Olly Murphy excels in bumpers so CRACKIN’ ROSE (5.15) stands out in the closer.

IDOAPOLOGISE (2.05) can shade the Eddie Moll Handicap at Beverley. James Bethell’s gelding should be primed after giving an in-form La Trinidad most resistance here last time. STONE MASON (3.50) looks ready to turn the tables on William Alexander in the Churchill Tyres Handicap.

Michael Appleby’s horse was a fine second to his rival here last week and should exact his revenge at today’s weights.

CONTRAST (4.55) is worth punting in the Merrington Memorial Handicap.

Mick Easterby’s gelding is still on an attractive turf mark after his narrow loss to Gift Of Kings at Newcastle.
