KEVIN DE BRUYNE may have been nutmegged live on TV but Wolves were the ones left with their tail between their legs.

Manchester City were straight out of the blocks, full of speed, energy and intent as the Premier League delivered a record 44 top-flight goals over the weekend.

City look a team re-energised with a determination to last the course in this season’s title race.

Even a late Wolves revival that saw Raul Jimenez pull a goal back in the 78th minute – after Daniel Podence cheekily megged De Bruyne to dink in a cross – couldn’t shake them out of their stride.

Yes, they coasted a little too much after the break. Yes, they allowed Wolves chances that on another day could easily have been converted.

But City oozed quality right from
