Sounds like a real scream

-

ITV2, 10pm

IF YOU’VE been missing crazy nights out, drunken dancing with your pals, hugging strangers in the toilet and telling them you love them, then tunelessly belting out power ballads, this new series could be for you.

And for those people who haven’t missed any of that at all, and in fact think it sounds like hell, then this could reinforce your choices and make you happy to be locked down.

It’s Celebrity Karaoke Club – and it does what it says on the tin.

A load of famous people go to a club, get plied with free booze, and compete against each other to see who will become the Ultimate Karaoke Champion and who’ll get kicked out of the club.

Now it’s very important to clarify from the start that there is a vast difference between being good at singing and being good at karaoke. The two are practically mutually exclusive.

Shown by the fact that Scarlett Moffatt regularly brings the house down with her, er, vocally challenged performances, while actual talented singer Tallia Storm doesn’t exactly wow the crowd.

It’s also important to point out that this is on ITV2, and so the

“celebrities” are those on their regular roster.

Joining Scarlett and Tallia in this first episode are TOWIE’s Jess Wright, Ibiza Weekender’s David Potts, Melvin Odoom, Courtney Act and Luke Kempner. As the least popular entertainer gets the boot, they will be replaced by the likes of Joel Dommett, Samira Mighty, Roman Kemp and Baga Chipz.
