Potter fans go loco over blocked view
HARRY Potter fans were left fuming after their view of the Hogwarts Express was blocked by an oncoming train at a Scots station.
Fans had queued for hours at Drumry train station in Clydebank on Monday to get a glimpse of the famous locomotive – only for a ScotRail train to block their view. Potter fanatics, including young children, were disappointed when the 4.12pm train to Dalmuir completely obscured their views of the distinctive steam train. In a video posted on Twitter, one woman can be heard saying: “Of course that’s going to have happened”, as both trains passed the platform at the same time.
Another said: “No way. It didn’t even stop.” One person couldn’t help but see the funny side of the situation, tweeting: “Everyone buzzing about this Harry Potter train, can’t help myself but laugh at the people at Drumry Station. Platform One on route to Hogwarts Express Platform Two the 16.12 to Dalmuir @ScotRail just going about its busineess.”
The train, made famous by the blockbuster movie series, travelled from its winter base in Carnforth in Lancashire on
Monday. Hundreds of Potter fans queued at train stations across the country to see the locomotive on its travels.
Locals slammed fans queuing at Dalmuir station for ignoring social distancing guidelines.
Some claimed that many among the large crowd on the platform were not wearing face coverings and were also not staying two metres away from each other.
