Trial and retribution
Gray is feeling the pressure of Whitney’s trial and his wife’s funeral
Gray may have had the presence of mind to clear up a crime scene while his dying wife was watching him, but this week, he’s struggling to keep it together as tries to cope with the kids – and his guilt – while also preparing for Whitney’s looming trial.
His colleague wants to take him off the case, and when it turns out that Chantelle’s funeral is taking place on the first day of the hearing, it seems as if the decision has been made for him. However, Gray insists he wants to work.
Whitney steps in to tell him that he has to put his kids first, even though she’s terrified at the prospect of going to court without him. But as the day of the funeral dawns, will Gray manage to get through it?
Meanwhile, Whitney’s first day in court takes an unexpected turn that leaves the defendant shaken. Sonia tries to reassure her that everything will be fine once Mick takes the stand but that’s before the ex-pub landlord struggles with the prosecutors’ questions and collapses from a panic attack. The trial isn’t the only thing making Mick anxious this week though. On Monday, he asks Frankie why she’s hanging around his family and is shocked when she reveals that she may be his daughter. Elsewhere, Suki finds Jags’ jeans, which are covered in Martin’s blood, but that’s not the only upsetting discovery she makes. When Jags later tells the family the truth about his relationship, his angry mum commits a huge betrayal.
Callum is horrified when Thompson asks him to wear a wire, and Phil feels an instant bond with little Raymond. Meanwhile, Jean worries about Kush’s gambling.
