JACK IS HOPEFUL H ON O KYLE SIGNING S
JACK ROSS is hopeful of finalising a deal for Kyle Magennis today and believes he matches the profile of Hibs’ top scorer Kevin Nisbet.
Striker Nisbet netted a brace in the win over Hamilton with St Mirren’s Magennis watching on from the stands.
And Ross admitted he’s being signed for his potential as much what he can add immediately.
He said last night: “I don’t think it’s quite formalised yet but I’d hope it would all be concluded by tomorrow morning.
“I’d be delighted and excited if we could do it.
“He’s a player I gave his debut to at St Mirren and I’ve known him since he was a youngster. It would be a great addition for us.
“He fits the profile we had with Kevin – a young Scottish player we think can improve and grow with us and potentially benefit us too in future.
“There’s always a risk with every signing but we feel everything Kyle has, attribute-wise, is that he’s worth it.”
It had been reported Hibs had made an offer for Crewe midfielder Ryan Wintle but Ross poured cold water on that one.
He said. “I know Ryan. He’s a good player but for us at the moment, I’m pr pretty satisfied where w we’re at.”
Accies boss Brian Rice wa was disappointed with his sid side’s first-half display in Lei Leith, although was plea pleased with the way they rallie rallied late on.
He said: “First half, we didn didn’t get out the traps. But I think you saw second half that when we’re at it, we’r we’re not a bad team.”
Rice Ri was without first-choice first keeper Ryan Fulton after he tested positive posi for coronavirus.
He added: “Everything seems seem to happen to us. It was very disruptive.”
