NEW RULES IN FULL
They start from 6pm tomorrow and run until Sunday, October 25, for all of Scotland apart from regional hospitality variations as listed below
HOSPITALITY CENTRAL BELT
All licensed premises, with the exception of hotels for residents, will be forced to close for two weeks in Greater Glasgow & Clyde, Ayrshire & Arran, Lanarkshire, Forth Valley and Lothian Health Board areas. They may remain open for takeaway food only. Cafes without an alcohol licence will be allowed to stay open until 6pm.
OUTDOOR LIVE EVENTS CENTRAL BELT
There is a ban on these in the five health board areas for the next two weeks.
INDOORS HOSPITALITY OUTSIDE CENTRAL BELT
Pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes will only be allowed to open indoors between 6am and 6pm and will not be allowed to sell alcohol. Hotel restaurants will be allowed to operate until 10pm but on a strict residents-only basis and no alcohol will be allowed to be served.
OUTDOORS HOSPITALITY OUTSIDE CENTRAL BELT
Pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes can continue to serve alcohol outdoors up to the existing curfew time of 10pm.
WEDDINGS AND FUNERALS ALL SCOTLAND
Weddings, funerals and other “life moments” are the exceptions to the new hospitality rules and will be allowed to continue for up to 20 guests in the whole country.
SCHOOLS, COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES
All educational establishments will remain open.
LEISURE ACTIVITIES
Snooker and pool halls, indoor bowling alleys, casinos and bingo halls will close for two weeks from Saturday but gyms can remain open for individual exercise.
CONTACT SPORTS
Contact sports for people over 18 will be suspended for two weeks, except for professional sport. Indoor group exercise will not be allowed apart from those under the age of 18.
MEETING FRIENDS AND FAMILY
The ban on meeting up in each other’s homes remains and a maximum of six people from two households may meet up outside.
TRANSPORT TR
Those Thos in the Central Belt should not uuse public transport unless absolutely abso necessary. There are no mandatory ma travel restrictions but those th in Greater Glasgow & Clyde, Ayrshire A & Arran, Lanarkshire, Forth Fo Valley and Lothian are advised a not to travel outside their th own health board area unless un it is necessary. People from fro outside these areas are advised advi not to travel to them.
SHOPS
Two-metre distancing in all shops and one-way systems in supermarkets to be reintroduced.
FACE COVERINGS
New regulations to extend the mandatory use of face coverings indoors are to be introduced. It will now be compulsory to wear a face covering in staff canteens and corridors in workplaces.
