Lauren Wi lson’s weight ballooned to more than 13st and her confidence plummeted right before Covid-19 put Scotland on lockdown.

The 23-year-old, from Glasgow, never dreamed of going to a Zumba workout class due to her low self- esteem and “terrible coordination”.

Part- time Masters student Lauren came across Libby Smith – the daughter of former Ibrox star Gordon Smith – and her online Zumba classes during the first week of lockdown.

Now, Lauren’s weight has dropped from 13st 5lb to just over 9st.

She’s dropped three dress sizes, going from a 14 to an eight.

Proud Lauren told the Record: “I’ve come out of lockdown a completely different person.

“My confidence has grown so much and I’m healthier than I ever was before.

“I don’t know where I’d be if it wasn’t for Libby’s classes.”

Libby made headlines after getting together with former Celtic player Logan Bailly.

The 31- year- old and Belgian goalkeeper Bailly, 34, welcomed their son Edson Thunder into the world two years ago but the pair split in 2018.

Lauren is now singing fitness instructor Libby’s praises and urges other Scots to get involved with her life- changing classes.

She added: “Libby is a beautiful person inside and out.

“She is so inspiring and helps people grow in confidence.

“Her classes are so positive.

“Before losing weight, I was into fashion but felt like I couldn’t wear anything nice.

“Milestones like my 21st had a dampener put on them because I lacked confidence in myself. That’s all changed this year and it’s because of Libby.”

Fitness fanatic Libby documents her classes online and has racked up more than 20,000 followers on Instagram.

The Glasgow mum, who counts fellow ex-Celtic WAG

Helen Flanagan as a close pal, said star client Lauren is a “great role model”.

Libby told the Record: “I’m so proud of Lauren.

“She is proof that you don’t need to be extreme, just consistent.

“She has achieved her personal goals in such a short period of time.

“She has a great positive outlook and is a great role model. It’s been an honour for me to have been part of her journey.”

She added: “The online classes were incredibly benef icial for people’s mental well- being, as well as p hy s i c a l , during lockdown.

“I ’m so grateful to Lauren and all my other students who have supported my online classes.”
