THE SATURDAY JURY

-

1 Where on the park do you think today’s Old Firm will be won and who will be the key men?

RYAN KENT has been firing on all cylinders this season and if he replicates the form he showed at Celtic Park in December he can be the difference. You’d never rule Celtic out but they won’t get away with the displays they’ve had recently.

SET-PIECES might be vital. Nikola Katic won the last Old Firm game from a corner and Celtic have more threat this time with the likes of Shane Duffy. It could come down to a decent delivery and some slack marking.

THE battle on the flanks will be fascinating particularly with Kent and Borna Barisic facing up Jeremie Frimpong and whoever is chosen to cover in behind for Celtic. Whoever comes out on top in that battle could be key.

2

It’s in an empty Celtic Park but who will benefit most from the silence in the stands?

STANDS to reason that Rangers will benefit from not having 59,200 Celtic fans on their backs. That said, it didn’t affect them in the last match. But there’s no doubt Celtic wanted their support in the stadium and won’t have it.

IT’S obviously better for Rangers not to have everyone except a tiny corner of Celtic’s home stadium against them. That’s just common sense.

WHILE every player on the park would surely prefer to have the place rocking, you’ve got to say it plays into Rangers’ hands not having 59,000 baying Celtic fans on their backs.

Do you think the outcome of today’s match will count to the destination of the title?

BOTH bosses can say it’s only three points but in terms of confidence and psychology it’s huge. I don’t see either of them dropping lots of points against the other clubs, so the head-toheads will be crucial.

A CELTIC win might have more longstanding implications for Rangers than vice versa given the way the season has started and the stories of the recent two campaigns.

IF someone steals a march by taking the three points this early then of course it’s important. Celtic have won the last four opening Old Firms of the season and you know where the title has gone.

4 Scotland is believing again. Are we seeing a rebirth or are we getting carried away?

PROBABLY getting a little carried away but with everything else in life being so difficult at the moment, who can blame us? Those were three terrific results and have given the nation a lift. Let’s hope for one more big push next month.

WE’RE not getting carried away but people should also be prepared not to collapse back into negativity if we lose to Serbia. While it would be gut-wrenching to lose, it wouldn’t undo all the good work. We’re on the right path.

ALL we ask is to see a clear game plan that works and players giving their all. That’s been the case in the last three games and look what it brought us. Fingers crossed it’s nine in a row but nobody should be getting carried away.
