Man, 65, released after pub bombs quiz
A 65-YEAR-OLD man held in connection with the murders of 21 people in the 1974 Birmingham pub bombings has been released.
Michael Patrick Reilly was arrested in Belfast under the Terrorism Act. He was interviewed under caution and released on Thursday after a search of his home. Det Supt Kenny Bell, of West
Midlands Police, said: “We are committed to finding those responsible for the murders.”
Reilly’s lawyer Padraig O’Muirigh said: “My client denies any involvement in the matters for which he was questioned.”
The Birmingham Six were jailed over the bombings in 1975, but their convictions were quashed in 1991.
