Queens will reign again
GREGOR BUCHANAN reckons the Covid-19 crisis has made it tougher than ever to build a squad from scratch.
But the experienced defender insists it’s only a matter of time before new-look Queen of the South click.
The club endured more close-season upheaval than any Championship side, with Allan Johnston bringing in an astonishing 16 new faces.
Queens have just one point from four games but 30-yearold Buchanan revealed a bond is already being built among the group.
He said: “People sometimes expect things to click straight away but with so many new signings, it was always going to take time for everyone to adapt.
“We just need to get that first win on the board and we’ll kick on. I believe the luck will turn and the results will come.”
Alloa boss Peter Grant wants his strikers to be their best defenders as he seeks to tighten up a porous backline.
The Wasps have kept just one clean sheet all season and Grant said: “When you talk about defending, I talk about strikers because we’ve all got to take that responsibility.”
