MONDAY JURY 1 2

-

NEIL LENNON was angry at polls last month on whether he should be sacked. Is it now a legitimate question after Sparta Prague defeat and two more points lost in the title race?

IT’S no longer a question for polls but for Peter Lawwell to answer. Celtic’s chief executive must have been agonising over it all weekend. Lennon has been a stoic servant for his club but the manager is now in a tailspin at the worst possible moment. Lawwell has a huge call to make.

HE had every right to be angry. Lennon has won every domestic trophy since his return to the club, what more can he do? Yes, they are trailing Rangers but there are still six months left in the season. So it’s not a legitimate question.

NO. Celtic’s recent struggles are another example of football’s ability to throw hurdles in your path and it’s Lennon’s turn to be the target for criticism for fans in full panic mode. A change of manager would only further jeopardise 10-in-a-row hopes.

SHOULD the SFA have done more testing of Scotland U-21 players after a trio of club bosses joined forces to blast the governing body for the weekend Covid chaos?

PASS. It’s the nature of the virus to create chaos and testing appears to be keeping football on the road. Should the SFA be testing players when they land at Glasgow Airport? No idea.

HOW soon is too late? That’s the question the board will be asking. Even with games in hand, Celtic can’t allow the gap to become much bigger. Rangers will drop points, it’s whether Celtic can capitalise. But Lennon has defied his doubters before and deserves the chance again.

THEY should be leading by example. After hammering Premiership players, they shouldn’t leave anything chance to with their own testing of players during international duty. It doesn’t look good.
