The Swede powered home a 20th-minute header and kneed in an Ante Rebic cross in 54 minutes for the second.

Dries Mertens halved the deficit in 63 minutes but Tiemoue Bakayoko’s red card just two minutes later killed their chances of a fightback.

Jens Petter Hauge added a stoppage-time third for Milan, who sit two points clear of Sassuolo with Napoli dropping to sixth.

In Ligue 1, Celtic’s fellow Europa League opponents Lille cruised to a 4-0 victory over Lorient to move two points behind PSG.

Yusuf Yazici struck in the 29th and 51st minutes, Luiz Araujo added the third in 57 minutes and Jonathan David fired a late fourth.

La Liga leaders Real Sociedad were rewarded for their persistence as they eked out a 1-0 victory at Cadiz to earn a sixth consecutive league win.

Swedish forward Alexander Isak gave the dominant visitors the lead midway through the second half, rising highest at the far post to head in a cross from Adnan Januzaj.

The Basques had goals by Isak and Mikel Merino ruled out for offside either side of half-time before Isak struck, while Merino also had a shot cleared off the line by Cadiz defender Fali.

Imanol Alguacil’s side also barely allowed their opponents a sight of goal, conceding only two shots in the 90 minutes, neither of which hit the target.

The victory kept Sociedad top of the standings and took them on to 23 points after 10 games, three ahead of second-placed Atletico Madrid but having played two games more. Cadiz are sixth on 14 points.
