NOBEL PRIZE VICTOR

- BY GARRY OWEN

NOBEL JOSHUA (1.11) can extend David Pipe’s winning run on a cracking card at Taunton.

The former Gordon Elliott inmate put in his best effort for his new yard when chasing home The Composeur at Exeter. This tough gelding can go one better under jockey Fergus Gillard.

PECKINPAH (1.41) can call the shots for thriving handler Alan King. The young hurdler should build on his fair third to Breffniboy on his handicap bow at Kempton.

Colin Tizzard has also hit form so I’m backing KAUTO THE KING (2.11). The gelding remains unexposed over fences after his good third to Oscar Robertson at Hereford.

DAVE AND BERNIE (2.41) can bag the trappy Stables Handicap Hurdle.

Oliver Signy’s horse stayed on track by cosily dismissing

Fort De L’Ocean over two miles at Ludlow.

The gelding is even better over 2m 3f so he can follow up under the skilled Tom O’Brien.

DE BARLEY BASKET (3.11) should take the competitive Geoff White Handicap Chase.

Ben Pauling’s charge recorded a clear personal best when slamming Pakie’s Dream at Market Rasen.

The gelding is open to plenty of progress so he can shrug off a well-earned 6lb hike. There are also some decent bets on offer at Lingfield headed by ALKA STEP (12.33).

John Bridger’s hurdler was just held by Invincible Cave at Plumpton but he can turn the tables at today’s weights.

AWAY FOR SLATES (2.03) is looking good to shade a tricky two-miler for Milton Harris. The chaser can gain compensation for trying to live with the in-form Desque De L’ lsle over track and trip.

THE MICK PRESTON (2.33) has the quality to open his account over timber for his talented trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies.

The gelding is ready to strike with a repeat of his excellent debut second to Flic Ou Voyou at Newton Abbot.

SILENT MAN (3.33) rates a confident selection in the lucky last.

The chaser looks to be nicely unexposed after bolting up on debut for Tom Lacey at Ffos Las.
