LAW WELL: JUST STAY STRONG

-

of concerns within the fanbase. Unruly protests took place outside the stadium after the Betfred Cup loss to Ross County with Lennon and his players facing heavy fire from a section of the supporters.

But Lawwell said: “Like all those with Celtic’s best interests at heart , everyone at the club is feeling the same hurt, disappointment and frustration following the team’s recent results.

“We are accustomed to winning and our objective will always be for that to continue. There is no complacency whatsoever.

“Neil, the players and backroom staff, who have already done so much for the club, share in all of that. They have never been more determined to succeed.

“Having enjoyed such sustained, unprecedented success, we now need strength in adversity.

“We know many Celtic supporters share very honest and real concerns and they are being heard by the club.

“Every decision taken, both on and off the park, is with the club’s best interests at heart. This is not about any individual but about Celtic as a collective.

“Together we have faced unique difficulties in the early part of the season. While some of these were beyond our control, of course we recognise we must improve.

“There is a long way to go and everyone at the club is ready for the challenge.

“Later this month, Celtic will attempt what no other club in the world has achieved. A quadruple Treble in domestic competitions.

“We can best prepare for that and for our other remaining competitions this season by moving forward together with the sole aim of achieving continued success for the club.”

Meanwhi le, Brown insists the players must shoulder the blame for poor form.

The midfielder said: “We’ve been having a good chat, we’ve all been watching games back, watching what we can do better as a team and individually as well.

“I signed here 13 years ago to make sure I was winning trophies and wanting to win every single game I played. Especially at Celtic Park.

“It’s not been that at the moment but we need to make sure we get back to that.

“We believe in the manager and we believe in the players as well.

“Everyone’s together and we know we need to make sure we start getting results and we need to do that extremely quickly.”

It has been rumoured certain players are unhappy with Lennon, who publicly stated in the summer some of his top stars wanted to leave.

However, the skipper added: “The manager’s a winner. He instils that into us every day in training.

“It’s just not seemed to be clicking at the top end of the park, or in the middle or at the back at the moment.

“The gaffer’s a huge Celtic fan and he wants this club to win.

“Even when he was away from this club he was texting me to make sure we won the leagues, make sure we won titles. That shows you how much it means to the manager.”

The anger from fans is palpable as the quest for 10 in a row looks to be derailed and Brown sent a message to the support.

He said: “It’s hard for the fans as they’re missing coming to watch us and getting into the stadium.

“We’re missing them as well. Stick with us through thick and thin. We’ll sort this out, we’ll get back to winning ways and we’re with you all the way.”
