Sarah Harding thanks fans for support as she battles cancer
SARAH Harding has thanked fans for all the love and support they have sent her since she revealed she is battling cancer.
The former Girls Aloud and Celebrity Big Brother star, 39, said despite things being so difficult, she is fighting as hard as she can and being as brave as she knows how.
She said yesterday: “Thank you so much for all the messages of love and support that I’ve received since my last post.”
Sarah broke the shock news in August that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, which had spread to other parts of her body.
She added: “Everyone has been so kind and reading your comments and DMs has been such a huge source of strength to me.
“I can’t deny that things are tough right now but I’m fighting as hard as I possibly can and being as brave as I know how.”
The star also revealed that she is about to complete an autobiography.
Sarah said of the request to write her life story: “It came at such a good time as it’s given me something fun and positive to focus on while I’ve been stuck at home between trips to the hospital for treatment.
“I’ve nearly finished it now and this week Mum and I have been looking through old photos, choosing which ones to include.”
Sarah shared the news with a picture of her as a child, as well as a sneak preview of the cover of her book, Hear Me Out. The book is expected to chart her rise to fame with bandmates Cheryl Tweedy, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh on ITV reality show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.
Girls Aloud had hits including Something Kinda Ooooh and Sound of the Underground before splitting in 2013. Sarah made her stage debut in Ghost: The Musical – based on hit 1990 Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze film Ghost – in 2016 and won Celebrity Big Brother in 2017. She also appeared on Channel 4 winter sports reality show The Jump, but quit after suffering a knee injury.
