A MARRIED businessman faces sex charges amid claims he asked a woman who was doing work in his house to steal him “dirty pants – the dirtier the better”.

Gerald Murray is said to have asked her if should could take them from other homes she worked at.

He is accused of repeatedly exposing himself to the woman, forcing her to watch pornography, and repeatedly video recording and photographing her without her consent.

Murray, 65, went on trial at Paisley Sheriff Court this week facing five charges under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009. His first alleged victim, who can’t be named for legal reasons, said Murray hounded her at his home in Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, numerous times in early

2019.

The 54-year-old hospital worker said: “He started to tell me he liked me – he was interested in me. He would follow me around the house.

“He said he wanted to open up to me about a secret he had. He said he liked the smell of me – it was just creepy.

“He was taking pictures and videos of me without my consent. He just wouldn’t stop.”

She said Murray, who lives with his wife Gloria, 58, regularly took photographs and videos of her while she worked in his home.

She said he showed her porn on his laptop, asked her if she “liked that kind of thing too”, exposed himself fully and asked if he looked good for his age.

She said one time he exposed himself to her she “screamed at him” and he went to put his clothes back on. She added: “He was like a naughty wee schoolboy. He had a pair of pants and said he liked to smell other women. He said, ‘Would you like to smell them?’

“He said, ‘Could you get me some dirty pants, some pairs from the laundry – and the dirtier the better’. It was sick, absolutely sick.”

His second alleged victim, 48, said he invited her for a yoga session when his wife was away and asked to smell her.

She said: “He said, ‘ I’ve got something I need to say to you – I’d like to smell you’. I was taken aback by it.

“I said, ‘I’m going to go now’ and he said, ‘Can I take a photo?’”

Murray has lodged special defences of consent, claiming the women were active, willing participants in his actions, and maintains his innocence. The trial was adjourned until the new year.
