MOYES EYES CLEAN BREAK FROM COVID

-

DAVID MOYES has ordered a deep clean of West Ham’s training ground after Ryan Fredericks was forced to selfi solate and miss this impressive win.

Tomas Soucek’s late strike gave Moyes his first victory at Goodison since he left the club.

Fredericks had to stay in London after testing positive for coronavirus and Moyes will give his squad four days off and close the training complex for the weekend. He said: “It means we are trying to do everything we can. We want everyone to take responsibility. It is difficult at the moment with Covid.

“It also means we can get another clean and keep people out but we have not been told to do that and it is not because of the one Covid player we have got. Ryan is fine but he had a positive test so we have just got on with it.

“So great credit to the players for the way they have gone about it. That is a big change in the mentality here at West Ham and they are showing it in the games.

“They have played three games in six days.

“I don’t think you would have said there was any difference in how the fitness looked or how they were.” Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti was downbeat after missing the chance to collect a fifth straight Premier League win.

He said: “We didn’t deserve to win but didn’t deserve to lose. We are very frustrated about that but we must keep our belief high.

“It was just not a good performance. We miss one point from this game and we try to catch it in the next game.”
