OLL OUT TO GET US

Lee relishes Hearts’ ‘favourites’ tag and vows to prove it

- ALAN MARSHALL

OLLY LEE loves that Hearts have a target on their back – because it means the Jambos squad must live up to their hype as the Championship’s best. Robbie Neilson’s side have fared well against teams raising their game against them, having opened up a five-point lead at the summit. Dundee will look to derail Hearts’ bid for the automatic promotion place when they host the Gorgie side in tonight’s televised clash. The Dark Blues will also be motivated by revenge after losing 6-2 at Tynecastle in the league opener. As far as midfielder Lee is concerned, he is relishing the challenge of the opposition giving Hearts the Old Firm treatment. The Englishman said: “When Hearts roll up, teams want to beat us. It’s a big event for them, like when we go to Celtic or Rangers.

“It’s nice to have that target on your back.

“It fills you with confidence that you need to go out and show just how good you are.

“It has been tough and the games are hard.

“A lot of teams sit back and it’s 11 men behind the ball, so you’ve got to break them down.

“We’ve been good at that but the teams are underrated up here.

“They get a lot of grief they’re not great but there are good sides and good players here.

“Every week is a big test for us. We have to keep winning the battle first, then our qualities can shine through.”

Despite picking up an emphatic victory over Dee in October, Lee appreciates this game is still blockbuster.

The 29- year- old added: “We set the tone for the season and we’ll look to repeat that.”
