RIHANNA wants to work with Scots superstar DJ Calvin Harris again.

The 32-year-old singer has been taking a break from music to focus on her Fenty fashion and beauty brands.

But now she wants to team up again with the man who wrote and produced her biggest tune, 2011’s We Found Love, which turns 10 on September 22 this year.

And speaking exclusively to the Record, Rihanna revealed: “I would love to work with Calvin again.

“It was me that approached him. He was supporting me on my Loud Tour and on the last night I told him I wanted to work with him and the rest is pretty much history.

“He knows what I think of his work – and if he has anything for me I would love him to approach me with it.”

It wasn’t just because of working with Calvin but Rihanna has a huge soft spot for Scotland.

She said: “All of my fans I have so much love for but there is no doubt Scotland is a special place.

“I was at T In The Park in 2013 and the crowd were insane. There were so many people and so much noise, I will always remember that night.”

Rihanna and Calvin, 36, have hit gold when they collaborated in the past.

We Found Love, written and produced by the Dumfries DJ and sung by Rihanna, sold 10.5million copies worldwide and stayed at No1 in America for 10 weeks – her longest stint at the top, even beating Umbrella in 2007.

It also helped Calvin break into the US and become the world’s most successful DJ.

The song was from Rihanna’s album Talk That Talk, which also featured their collaboration Where Have You Been, which reached No5 in the US and No6 in the UK.

The singer sang on the Calvin tune This Is What You Came For in 2016, a UK No2 and No3 in the US, the Scot’s highest charting song under his own name.

While Rihanna has been focusing on building her fashion and beauty empire she is said to be working on a reggae-infused ninth album.

She spent Christmas and New Year at home in Barbados with reported boyfriend A$AP Rocky.

She said: “It’s important to be with friends and family – but I feel at peace when I am there. It is the most beautiful place, with incredible, beaches, food and people.”

Refreshed, she has a busy year ahead. On New Year’s Day she posted a photo of herself in a gold skirt and bikini top writing: “New year’s resolution: apply the pressure” but no album was forthcoming.

She is the focus of a film about her career due out on Amazon in the summer. Looking at her career change from singing superstar to launching Fenty, director Peter Berg amassed 1200 hours of footage over five years.

Rihanna, who has acted in films including Ocean’s 8 and Battleship, has previously linked up with Amazon. Her autumn 2020 collection Savage X Fenty was showcased and streamed by the firm.

Covid means everything is up in the air but she insisted: “Twenty 21 is a little unknown for everybody and nobody is sure what restrictions there are going to be.

“My creativity is within my control, though, and I want to take my music and my brands to a different level.”

Big talk for an all-rounder with an estimated net worth of $600million. Speaking

before her latest fashion runway show last October it seems the star, who released seven albums in seven years – from 2005 debut Music of the Sun to 2012’s Unapologetic – doesn’t want to limit herself to being just a singer.

She said: “I used to be in the studio, only the studio, for three months straight, and an album would come out.

“Now, it’s like a carousel. I do fashion one day, lingerie the next, beauty the next, then music the next.

“It’s like having a bunch of kids and you need to take care of them all.

“It’s really important for me to expand. To build, evolve, to do things bigger, better. To try new aspects of creativity.

“I get bored really quickly, so if I’ve done it, I’m already bored of it while I’m doing it… I’m always like ‘what’s next, what’s next?’”
