Honest Keeling still ready to Rocks

-

CHRISTIAN KEELING insists Glasgow Rocks won’t quit on a bid to reach the BBL Playoffs.

A sixth straight league defeat on Sunday against Plymouth has left Gareth Murray’s men eight points off the top eight and adrift at the foot.

But Rock guard Keeling said: “You have to stay positive. Honestly, we had our a***s kicked by Plymouth but we have to move on and have short memories and focus on the next two games.” ATHLETICS: Russia is closer to having its suspension from World Athletics for doping offences lifted after the sport’s international governing body approved plans for reform.

The 31-page plan is described as a “last chance and urgent attempt” for change after Russia’s 2015 suspension. HOCKEY: Alan Forsyth is the lone Scot in the Great Britain squad of 22 to face Belgium and India in Antwerp over the next few days.

NATURAL HISTORY could be set for Sandown’s Imperial Cup after success in the RABI/Joan Collison Memorial Handicap Hurdle for Gary Moore and son Jamie at Plumpton.

Joining stablemate Goshen as a horse with a big target later in the month, the former smart Flat performer looked right at home on the drying ground as he kicked 15 lengths clear of Mystic Dreamer.

The six-year-old, who was off a mark of 116, holds a County Hurdle engagement at Cheltenham and trainer Gary said: “I’m easy about where he runs next.

“But the owner is quite ambitious and would like a crack at the Imperial Cup.

“He’ll need a substantial rise if he’s to get into it and I won’t be crying if he doesn’t.”

Also at Plumpton, the new stop-race flag was used as the maiden hurdle was declared void. It was the first time in more than 40 years it has happened at the course, occurring after Wudyastopasking was fatally injured.
