The six-year-old looked very useful when bolting up from Miss Mahmite over 2m 4f at Doncaster. The daughter of Milan is nicely unexposed so she can take another step forward over three miles.
FLASHING GLANCE (1:00) can kick off a profitable afternoon for shrewd handler Tom Lacey. The gelding was a decent novice chaser in 2018 and he has held his form well over timber ever since.
The eight-year-old should be fit from a spell on the Flat so he can make a winning return to fences.
The Ledbury handler can also bag the novices’ handicap hurdle with GLORY AND HONOUR (2:40).
The five-year-old opened his timber account by hammering Camprond at Huntingdon in November. The gelding is open to plenty of progress so he can follow up after a productive spell on the Flat.
There are also some worthwhile bets on offer at Taunton headed by SUNNY EXPRESS (3:05). Warren Greatrex’s chaser ran a stormer when second to handicap blot Fire Away at Musselburgh.
RUSSIAN SERVICE (3:40) can continue his revival for Samuel Drinkwater. The hurdler bounced back when denying Miss Harriett over course and distance last time.
The gelding remains fairly treated so he can shrug off a 3lb hike in a stronger contest.
Chris Gordon has hit peak form so I’m backing BLACK CENTAUR (4:12) in the threemiler. The gelding put in a career best over timber when routing Ratfacemcdougall at Hereford.
The eight-year-old still lurks on a really workable mark so he can go close again in a weaker event.
ROCK SOUND (2:15) looks very solid in the Bombardier Handicap on the Southwell all-weather. George Boughey’s horse improved again when comfortably defeating Zylan over six furlongs here.
The gelding should strike again over seven furlongs.
YOUNG JOHN (2:50) can gain compensation for his narrow loss to Shamarouski at Chelmsford.
