£200m deal for AJ v Fury clash

0 0 United lose their way in the mist as barren spell goes on

ANTHONY JOSHUA and Tyson Fury have agreed the terms of their £200million heavyweight showdown.

Fury’s co-promoter Bob Arum claims the boxers are ready to sign the contract, with Saudi Arabia leading the race to stage the clash in June or July.

Each fighter has been offered about £72m – and could earn £100m apiece when UK and worldwide broadcast rights are added.

MANCHESTER United have run out of goals and energy at just the wrong time.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his men lost their way in the fog at Selhurst Park and it’s now nearly five hours – 285 minutes – since they last scored a goal.

United were the Premier League’s top scorers until this week but have been overtaken by Man City.

Now, Solskjaer’s men find themselves 14 points behind City and even more worrying was the fact so many of the players looked utterly shattered.

Marcus Rashford was dead on his feet, bawled out by Harry Maguire for not having the energy to run back onside while Mason Greenwood lacks experience and guile.

And Bruno Fernandes looks jaded – with others feeling the pace of a gruelling season. Solskjaer said: “We were just a little bit off. If you’re not spot on you won’t win games.

“It’s been a long season. I’m not blaming that, everyone has the same season. You’re playing against a good team who make you play the way they want to.

“We kept giving the ball away. Then you don’t build momentum and that’s the game you get.”

Palace striker Christian Benteke smashed a shot over the crossbar while Joel Ward’s challenge on Luke Shaw left him knowing he was in a game.

United found some rhythm and Nemanja Matic’s shot was deflected off James McCarthy and it took a fullstretch save by Vicente Guaita to deny the visitors a lead.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s cross from the right split the Palace defence and looked destined for Cavani at the back post but Ward made a sliding interception.

Palace went close just after the hour as Luka Milivojevic’s free-kick hit the United wall and Andros Townsend fired the rebound wide. United keeper Dean Henderson, in for David De Gea who was missing for personal reasons, watched the ball trickle wide.

JOHN McGLYNN insists Raith had to opt to go completely full-time next season after losing out on signing targets last year.

Rovers have run with a mix of part-time players for the last two campaigns.

But McGlynn said: “I have to make sure I’m getting the best players here and to do that we need to be full-time.

“The club has backed us with that, while we’re in the Championship or above.”

If this carried on for another season, I’m not sure how many clubs would be able to survive
