IF YOU like to get noticed out on the road then this unique, vivid orange Aston Martin will be right up your street.

The 2011 Carbon Black Edition V12 Vantage was given the one-off Montana Orange factory paintjob when it was made back in 2011.

Adding to its interest, this famous “press car” featured on Top Gear, with Jeremy Clarkson enthusing about it.

The Vantage has also been regularly photographed alongside hypercar nobility, including the Aston Martin One-77, Pagani Zonda PS, Koenigsegg Agera, Ferrari 599GTO, Bugatti Veyron and Lamborghini Murcielago.

With just 25,148 miles on the clock, this car’s desirable optional extras include a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, carbon ceramic brakes and front and rear parking sensors.

Among numerous other upgrades is a power pack from top specialist David Appleby Engineering, giving the car up to 560bhp.

It has also undergone a professionally installed facelift using genuine Aston Martin parts, consisting of the sought-after carbon grille and slightly elongated lower splitter, as well as having small accents painted to modernise the appearance and an interior tint put on the rear window.

And it appears as though the wheels have been refurbished in black at some point during the vehicle’s life.

This hot Aston is expected to fetch up to £70,000 at the H&H Classics live online auction on March 24 – go to www.handh.co.uk to find out more.

SCOTLAND’S drivers are the safest in the UK, according to a survey by an innovative insurance service.

Only nine per cent of Scots quizzed by Rooster Insurance confessed to having had a motoring fine during the last five years – half the UK average of 18 per cent.

An impressive 70 per cent of Scottish motorists said they had experienced no dangerous or careless driving incidents in the past five years.

Furthermore, 89 per cent claimed to have not received any speeding tickets or been warned about excessive speed over the same period of time.

Adverse weather such as snow, rain and wind was the biggest concern for Scottish drivers, as 62 per cent admitted this could negatively affect their driving.

And Scotland’s capital is even safer than the rest of the country, as fewer than five per cent of Edinburgh drivers claimed to have committed a motoring offence in the past five years.

That was in a stark contrast to England’s capital, which was home to the greatest number of drivers with bad driving habits – 34 per cent said they had broken the law at some point during that time.

Richard Tucker, founder at Rooster Insurance, said: “It’s great to see that so many Scottish motorists have developed good driving habits, even those living in the busy capital of Edinburgh.

“It sets an excellent example for drivers across the rest of the UK to follow. Nevertheless, it’s important that good drivers don’t become complacent or be tempted to begin driving more carelessly.

“Make sure to be aware of your surroundings, check your speed limit regularly and leave your phone in a safe place so you won’t be distracted by any flashing messages as you drive.”

With Rooster Insurance, drivers download a smartphone app, drive around for about three weeks and then get a premium based primarily on their driving behaviour. Visit joinrooster.co.uk for more information.
