NICOLA Sturgeon’s announcement yesterday that there could be some minor changes to outdoor meetings in Scotland next week sparked a debate online.

The First Minister said she hoped restrictions could be eased due to suppression of the deadly Covid-19 virus. She urged caution but gave families hope they may be able to see each other again.

Marjory Thomson wrote: “Time to start living – no more lockdown or tiers.”

Nicole Cunningham said: “She’s trying to speed things up so we can be back to some sort of normality.”

But Roy Hill said: “Just keep us locked up for years for our good health. We need saving and locking us up is the only way. It’s far too dangerous to be outside. Let’s clap and be forever thankful for this as the risk is just too great.”

Shona Graham said: “See the folk that want to stay locked up? Let them. As for the rest of us, give us our lives back.”
