A vulcanolog­ist’s suspicions that a long-dormant volcano is about to erupt turn out to be true, prompting him to race against time to save the community standing in its way – and clash with local government officials weighing his prediction­s against the loss in tourism revenue. ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS: THE MOVIE BBC TWO, 11.30PM

Worried about her finances when her book fails to find a publisher, Patsy is given the tip that Kate Moss has left her PR company and will be looking for new representa­tion. Things start to go awry when the plot to approach the model goes horribly wrong. Comedy based on the BBC sitcom, starring Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley.

Former CIA agent Bryan Mills and his ex-wife Lenore are taken hostage in Istanbul by an Albanian gangster, whose son Bryan killed while bringing down a kidnapping ring. He is able to escape with the aid of his daughter, and together they fight to rescue Lenore and wipe out the criminal family. Action thriller sequel, starring Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen.

COWBOYS & ALIENS FILM4, 10.50PM

A Wild-West town dominated by a cattle baron comes under attack by invaders from another world. It falls to a mysterious stranger with no memory to unite the townsfolk, a gang of outlaws and an Apache tribe, in a bid to fight back against the aliens, and learn the truth about his own past. Sci-fi Western adventure, starring Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde and Sam Rockwell.

MRS BROWN’S BOYS D’MOVIE BBC TWO, 11.30PM

The Irish matriarch discovers that a plan is afoot by developers to buy the famous Dublin street market where her family has run a fruit and veg stall for generation­s. Assembling a band of allies, she plans to fight back, only to realise her daughter is not interested in taking over the business. Comedy, starring Brendan O’Carroll and Jennifer Gibney.

NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: SECRET OF THE TOMB FILM4, 7.05PM

Nightwatch­man Larry notices that the living exhibits of his museum are behaving strangely, and he discovers that their magical artefact is damaged. Fantasy comedy sequel, starring Ben Stiller.
