Man injured in driveway knife attack

POLICE are hunting a masked assailant who ambushed his victim in his own driveway yesterday.

It’s understood the man suffered stab wounds to his head, chest and leg in the assault in Edinburgh.

Sources said the victim’s kids may have witnessed the attack just before 5pm.

A spokeswoma­n for Police Scotland said: “He was taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries. Inquiries are continuing.”

TESCO will set up the UK’s largest network of recycling points for soft plastic.

After a successful trial, it will install bins at 171 stores where shoppers can drop off packaging such as bread wrappers, crisp packets and salad bags.

Even cling film and baby food pouches can be left to be recycled into casing for household and beauty products and food packaging for items like cheese.

The scheme aims to save 1000 tons of plastic going into landfill a year.
