SASHENKA (2.40) ought to kick off a good day for Michael Scudamore at Catterick.
The hurdler ran a stormer when giving Anythingforlove most resistance over course and distance in December. The mare is open to progress and should be primed after a fair spin on the all-weather.
The thriving Hereford handler looks poised to also claim the novices’ chase with SMITHS CROSS (3.10).
The eight-year-old put in his best shift yet over fences when second to Ain’t My Fault at Newcastle. The gelding remains unexposed over two miles so should go one better.
