FAMILY SEEKING CLUES TO MISSING PATTI

- BY DAVID CAMPBELL

THE devastated brother of missing woman Patti Henry says her family are desperately seeking an end to their four-year ordeal.

Tragic mother-of-one Patti, 46, was reported missing in March 2017 however despite extensive searches her body has never been found.

She had lived in Paisley before moving to Girvan, Ayrshire. A pensioner was arrested and charged in connection with her disappearance in 2019 and is due to stand trial later this year because of delays due to the pandemic.

Distraught Stephen Henry, 47, said: “All we want is for this to be over, to get some answers and to find out where Patti’s body is.

“We really want her home, we want to have a place where we can go and visit her, to lay her to rest properly. We understand there are delays with the pandemic but we have waited a long time.

“The family have suffered enough. “

The Crown Office would not comment.

Things might be strange again but there’s no reason why, with a little bit of thought and planning, it cannot still be special

IT’S the second Mother’s Day in lockdown and we have had a year to get used to Zoom calls and FaceTime chats.

This year, with the recent slight easing of the rules, there are a few glimmers of hope.

It’s now possible to visit a loved one in a care home – each resident can have two designated visitors. Both can visit once a week.

From tomorrow, four adults from two households, plus children under 12, can meet outdoors. This includes gardens, and visitors are allowed to access the garden through the house as long as they are quick and don’t touch anything. They are also allowed to use the toilet.

Adults will also be allowed to play non-contact sports in groups of up to 15. So if your mum is a keen golfer or a tennis addict – sorted.

But travel restrictions are still in place, so lots of families still won’t be able to get together to celebrate Mother’s Day.

For the rest of us, here are some ideas to celebrate the day safely.
