£1K PUPPY DIES HOURS AFTER SALE TO FAMILY
Mum’s heartbreak after being duped into buying
TRAGIC
A MUM of two watched her dog die hours after being duped into buying it from puppy farmers.
Malgorzata Bujko, 38, bought border collie Karma for £1000 from a female seller on Gumtree last week.
Malgo, of Kilwinning, Ayrshire, had saved up money to buy the puppy for her daughters, aged 15 and nine.
But the family were left heartbroken when Karma began to pass blood and died just hours later on March 3.
Malgo, 38, Karma was a victim of a puppy farming operation.
She said: “It’s heartbreaking. There was an advert in Gumtree for five border collie pups. Her price was £1350 so I asked if she’d take £1000.
“She said she couldn’t but knew another seller who had a female pup.
“She told me the puppy was really happy, healthy and had been microchipped. She said it had had its first jags and was ready to go.”
Malgo asked the seller if she could come to see the puppy with its mum but was told she couldn’t have anyone at the house due to Covid. She added: “She said she’d bring the puppy to my home and provide food.”
When Karma became ill, Malgo phoned the seller, asking her to return but was blocked. Malgo then called a vet but Karma died in her arms.
Malgo said: “I am desperate to find the sellers and confront them.”
Richard Gray, 27, was also duped by puppy farmers and saw his border collie pup die hours after receiving it.
Both buyers claim a female of the same name, who we can’t name for legal reasons, sold them puppies. Both describe her as in her early 20s, with blonde hair and an Irish accent.
The Scottish SPCA warned buyers to be beware “bad breeders” online, adding: “We are investigating this case and many others.”
A SCOTS TikTok chef with a unique technique has challenged Gordon Ramsay to a mince and tatties cook-off in the kitchen.
Glasgow-born Jimmy Stewart, who turned 60 in January, is a huge hit on the video-sharing social media platform.
His quirky tutorials – filmed in hotel rooms – on how to cook using irons, kettles and an assortment of other electrical appliances have had more than four million views.
Rail worker Jimmy, who travels round Britain most weeks for work, joined TikTok just before the first lockdown to keep an eye on his granddaughter Karris, seven, who was using the app. He now has more than 156,000 TikTok followers.
In the videos, he gave himself a lockdown haircut with a bowl and used curling tongs and a tube of Pringles to cook up the traditional Scottish dish of mince and tatties.
Jimmy’s video on his “Steak and Stella night” was shared by Ramsay.
Jimmy cooked the steak with an iron, put the potatoes in a bag in a kettle and used hair-curling tongs to a mix the sauce in a Pringles tube.
Ramsay posted: “No, come on, stop it. And now a hair tongs sauce? That will definitely put hairs on your chest.”
Jimmy said: “My followers tagged Gordon Ramsay for months and I think he caught on to it. I just wanted a reaction, even a message, so it was brilliant he made a video about it. He was always my No1 chef, alongside Gino D’Acampo.
“The curling tongs and Pringles tube are the best cooking thing I’ve found. I made mince and tatties and they were beautiful.
“I’d like to challenge Gordon to a cook-off – we can see who makes the best mince and tatties or stovies.”
Jimmy, who is divorced, says putting together the TikTok videos has boosted his mood.
He said: “I cannae dance or sing and I’m not very good at lipsynching, so I tried different things. I started it off as a wind-up then I realised I could cook. It stops me getting bored in lockdown. Doing videos has helped my mental health.”
He even claims to have found a TikTok wife – but just for laughs rather than romance.
Jimmy said: “I’ve been single for 15 years but have a TikTok wife now. We have a bit of banter but I’ve never met her. She’s about the same age as my daughter and encourages me to keep going.”
Last September, a Jimmy video filmed slightly worse for wear on a tour of Glasgow’s four corners went viral.
He said: “That was the first night out in town after lockdown. I was a bit merry and was very surprised how many views it got.
“I thought 30,000 followers was really brilliant then four weeks ago it had shot through the roof and I now have 150,000 followers.
“Karris is over the moon and I can’t wait to meet the new friends I’ve made once lockdown is over. There’s a big party on the cards and we’ll need a big hall.”
Despite opportunities to become an “influencer” and potentially work with leading brands, Jimmy says he is just doing it for fun. He said: “I’m not that kind of person.”
