Save your modesty Greegs.. we all know that was incredible

ALLAN McGREGOR’S analysis of one of the saves of his life might not have been world class – but actions always speak louder than words where this man is concerned.

The Ibrox No.1’s stupendous last-minute dive to his left to stop and hold a bullet header from Slavia Prague sub Lukas Masopust drew comparisons from Ibrox legend Ally McCoist to Gordon Banks’ save from Pele in the 1970 World Cup.

But McGregor’s deadpan description was in complete contrast to what thousands of Rangers fans had just witnessed.

“I saw it a wee bit late,” the 39-year-old said. “It’s just one of these things. You stick your hand out and hopefully it doesn’t go in. And it never. So happy days.”

Indeed it didn’t go in. And Rangers flew home from the Czech capital with a 1-1 draw that gives them a massive chance of reaching the last eight of the Europa League.

Steven Gerrard’s men survived the loss of an early goal and a poor opening half hour to level through Filip Helander and could have gone on to win it with a strong second-half display, before McGregor pulled off his breathtaking stop at death.

The keeper added: “Time will tell (if we’re happy with the result). I’ll tell you next Thursday if we’re happy with it or not.

“But after the start of the game I thought we did well to come back into it. We created some good chances, got a good goal and played better all round.

“I don’t think they changed a lot throughout the game.

“We knew what they were going to do, we knew what they were all about.

“We just didn’t handle it very well for the first 15 or 20 minutes. But we did after that.

“At half-time we just said the result was okay but the performance wasn’t great. So if we upped our performance levels we could win the game or create more chances.”

Asked if Rangers, who went out at this stage last term, can make
