Memories not made of this for drop fight

-

HAKEEM ODOFFIN insists Hamilton must apply selective memory as they continue to try to save their season.

The Accies defender believes blanking out defeats and adopting a positive mental attitude is the way ahead.

Accies one point ahead of bottom club Kilmarnock and three behind Ross County but Odoffin is adamant the Livi loss already forgotten with the focus only on hosting St Mirren on Saturday.

He said: “You have to have amnesia. We have got to forget about it and move on because it is a crucial time.

“The lads’ focus is on a big game next week. We just have to make sure we start right from the off.”

Odoffin gave credit to Livi for securing a top six place.

He said: “It is great for them, but I am focused on Hamilton and I am just looking for us to get as many points as possible to stay in the Premiership.

“It was one of those games where there wasn’t a lot going on. There wasn’t a lot between the two teams and it was disappointing for them to nick it, but we have to move on.

“There weren’t many chances, but they have just about edged it.” Hamilton’s concerns were compounded by the loss of skipper Scott McMann through injury before the game and boss Brian Rice is hopeful of having the defender back for the Buddies clash after Kyle Munro deputised on Saturday. He said: “Young Kyle came in and struggled first half.

“He was much better in the second half but he will learn from that.

“Scott felt his hamstring. He trained yesterday and thought he’d be okay but it was not worth taking a chance.”
