Livi up in court over loan debt

- BY ALAN MARSHALL

LIVINGSTON face a bill of over £300,000 as they start a court fight with Ged Nixon.

The ex-director loaned the Lions over £311,000 between 2009 and 2013, and a 2015 court case left the club with £215,367 to pay ‘when they were able’.

It’s alleged Livi since reimbursed other director loans but not Nixon’s.

As the trial begins today, Livi will argue Covid means they can’t stump up yet.

CHARLIE ADAM is backing Steven Gerrard to hit another massive milestone as Rangers head to Parkhead on Sunday as runaway champions.

The Ibrox boss is bidding to win four successive Old Firm games – a feat Gers have only achieved three times since the Second World War.

Scot Symon’s rampant side won six derbies over 1963 and 1964.

Walter Smith grabbed four in a row in 1996 and 1997 on the way to nine titles in a row. He then did it again 2008 – with Adam at the heart of the victories.

The Dundee captain said: “It’d be another major achievement for Gerrard and another milestone.

“If you look at the mindset they’ve had since the start of the season it’s been so impressive.

“On Old Firm day, form can go out the window and it’s about who turns up on the day and who wants it the most. But at the moment Rangers are most definitely turning up.

“They have an advantage over Celtic with their intensity and they have a structure and formation that’s working so well.

“They’ve also got one foot in the last eight of the Europa League so there could be even more to come. They will be so determined to make it four in a row. To do that would be something to be proud of and I’ve no doubt it will drive these players on.”
