DISTILL GAME

Comedy pair Jack and Victor launch whisky

- BY SEAN MURPHY

STILL Game duo Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill have revealed they are releasing their own whisky inspired by Jack and Victor.

The comedy duo recently set Scottish Twitter on fire with rumours after they both posted a mysterious short clip.

The Still Game rumour mill went into overdrive after the 24-second video teased fans with a new “Still here in spirit” logo. But a new clip confirmed it was a promo for the launch of a Jack and Victor whisky.

The video shows the same smokefilled background as the first with Jack and Victor’s voices in the background.

Jack asks what they are calling this latest clip, to which Victor responds: “Teaser two.”

His partner in crime quickly gives the game away by stating: “Oh right, teasing with mystery, with no suspicion that it’s whisky.”

As a clearly exasperated Victor responds: “Jack!”, he adds: “Oh, oh wait a minute, it is whisky in’t it?”

Victor then confirms: “Aye, it’s whisky.”

IN AN age of extremes in politics, there is a gap in the middle and Labour leader Keir Starmer’s reasoned, no-nonsense approach is welcome.

But on drugs policy in Scotland, where there is widespread consensus on drug consumption rooms, he has missed an opportunity.

On his first visit to Scotland he could have pledged to put his shoulder against that roadblock in the Tory Home Office that prevents a pilot scheme going ahead in Glasgow that could save lives.

Consumption rooms are not a magic solution and the pressure has to be kept on the Scottish Government to commit every per cent of the £250million found to rethink its drugs strategy.

Starmer is right to focus on the economic recovery but, unless he embraces radical policies, Labour may lose the chance to deliver on that recovery.

By being a Mr Cautious for the UK, Starmer has missed the chance to be Mr Radical for Scotland.
