Kick the habit Women racing ahead
THE weekend rugby match in Paris between France and Wales was the most exciting and entertaining match for many a year.
A couple of things from two matches stood out for me. The place-kicking in Paris took a lot less time to complete than it did in Dublin, which added to the entertainment for the fans, and it was disappointing to see a couple of players spitting on the pitch in Paris, which footballers often do in this country.

THE Cheltenham Festival this year has sprung many surprise results but none more that the brilliant achievement over its course of jockey Rachael Blackmore, with Bryony Frost chasing hard at her heels. It really was exciting racing and I am sure that the ladies in the country would be putting their money on these two superb jockeys.
They have managed at long last to get their feet in the door of the elite, one time male-only sport and they have done so with guts and determination.
They really are inspiring and their hard work will be recognised by other young women who love their horses but were always wary of the male dominance. Horse racing is now wide open to all and that can only be good for the sport. nothing more than to win power in Scotland, to legitimise the misery that London-based Tories are intent on subjecting us to. Do not trust them one inch. This rotten leopard doesn’t change its spots.
