FIRST appearance in the derby in almost two years and a comfortabl­e hold from a Morelos header before exposed at the Colombian’s equaliser. Sharp stop from a sizzling Kent volley. Got away with rattling a late clearance against Welsh in the box.

JONJOE KENNY..6

ON-LOAN Everton man had a terrible minute at the Rangers equaliser after he needlessly conceded a corner and then lost Morelos at the far post as he struck from the delivery. Late half-volley on the run stopped by McGregor.

KRIS AJER ..........

7 ADOPTED safety-first approach and covered well before the unit conceded another sloppy set-piece goal. Centre-back was composed in tricky situations and happy to step out of the backline in possession.

STEPHEN WElSH ...............

7 YOUNG defender was solid in his second start against Rangers. Given the slip just once by Kent as the winger spun off him to volley at Bain. Header over from a Turnbull corner. Passed it well and read the game with maturity.

DIEGO lAXAlT..7

LEFT-BACK made penetratin­g runs down his side throughout the contest. Produced a deft, chipped pass for Christie to break into the box and shot deflected wide just after the restart. Relentless running as he got stronger and stronger.

SCOTT BROWN..7

CAPTAIN made passes and closed down space in the first half as he dogged around the middle of the park. Crucially outgunned by Balgoun at the corner for the Morelos goal. Booked for tripping Kent. Made interventi­ons and kept ticking.

CAllUM McGREGOR .......

ALWAYS vibrant and busy. Volleyed over and got himself into more advanced areas. Excellent pass to set up the first goal. Raced on to a through ball from Laxalt to hit a shot against legs of his namesake Allan.

DAVID TURNBUll .........

INVOLVEMEN­T in both halves of the contest before Forrest took over. Pinpoint dead-ball delivery almost created a headed goal for Elyounouss­i before half-time and Welsh just after. Bursting run through on to Christie pass for a shot that was saved by McGregor.

RYAN CHRISTIE ...........

STRUGGLED to make a sustained impact with only flashes of his normal influence. One superb curling pass that almost got Elyounouss­i free in the box for a chance at a second goal and another terrific set-up ball to put Turnbull clear.

MOHAMED ElYOUNOUSS­I

..8 PERFECTLY-TIMED run and decisive header after escaping Helander to bullet home the opening goal. Exquisite touches to set up two Edouard chances and another header saved in an excellent attacking display.

ODSONNE EDOUARD ...........

SURGING run down the channel to produce a delightful cross for Elyounouss­i to head home. Booked for diving by ref Willie Collum when going down under Barisic challenge. Two strikes just saved by McGregor and header over.
