Carson still nose where the goal is
DAVID CARSON worried he had a nose bleed but still managed to seal a Fife double for Inverness.
And the makeshift fullback insists Caley Thistle should be comfortable making a late promotion push after lifting themselves up to fifth in the table.
They looked to be in dire relegation trouble only a few weeks ago when they plunged to ninth but are now just three points off the play-offs.
Carson stole in behind Dunfermline’s defence before a composed finish nine minutes from time for his first senior goal.
With just two defeats in their last nine matches, Carson reckons Inverness are a team on the up.
He said: “It was my first goal for Inverness – my first professional goal to be fair – so even better to score and to take the three points. I’m delighted.
“I had a nose bleed in the box and I was relieved to see the ball go in. The

boys deserved to take the three points and when I popped up in front of goal, thankfully I put it away.
“The manager said the game would probably be settled by a mistake or a bit of quality. Afterwards he just said he didn’t think it would come from me!
“We’ve had a lot of good performances but didn’t get the rub of the green.
“But we won on Tuesday and then won here. We’re growing in confidence.”
Dunfermline had their moments, with Mark Ridgers saving from Steven Whittaker at full stretch in the second half.
Aaron Comrie admitted they must rediscover form fast after slipping to third.
The defender said: “It was a flat performance and there was no real edge to us. It’s unlike us but we need to find that and find it quickly. We have a lot of games coming up.”
