Mackay magic show is late and great for Caley as

A LAST-GASP Daniel Mackay goal helped Inverness dump Highland rivals Buckie Thistle 3-2 to set up another derby – this time against Ross County.

James Keatings grabbed the opener inside the opening minute but Jack Murray headed home an equaliser.

Sean Welsh had Caley leading at the break but Callum Murray levelled five minutes from time, only for Mackay to pounce in the dying seconds.

Luke McCowan scored twice to help David Hopkin’s Ayr side cruise past Elgin 4-0.

Joe Chalmers netted first while

Michael Moffat added a second. McCowan added Ayr’s third and fourth in the first half to cap it off.

Raith Rovers booked their spot in round three with a 2-0 win at Stirling Albion.

Clyde will face Ayr in the next round after seeing off Keith 2-0 thanks to David Goodwillie and Scott Rumsby.

And Conor Gethins scored the decisive kick for Formartine as they beat Annan 3-1 on penalties.

Annan went ahead through Aidan Smith but Formartine’s Stuart Smith levelled and it took a shoot-out for the Highlander­s to secure a tie with Motherwell.
