Ryan just so spot-on for us says Kev

-

STIRLING boss Kevin Rutkiewicz paid tribute to Andy Ryan after the striker netted his ninth goal of the season to keep the Binos’ play-off hopes on track.

The hitman netted a second-half penalty, after playing his part in Dylan Macklin’s opener, as Albion won 2-1 at Galabank.

Stirling are level with second placed Edinburgh City on 29 points and seven better than Stranraer in fifth with a home clash against the Blues up next tomorrow.

Rutkiewicz said: “Andy has committed to the club for next year and his performance shows the commitment he has to the cause. He never stops running.

“He has been lethal so far from the penalty spot and he’s got that swagger about him that you never think he’s going to miss!

“It’s a tremendous three points at a very difficult venue.

“It’s a huge game on Tuesday now. We go into that confident, we have only lost two games all season in the league. We will be hoping to come out of it with the points.”

Mackin tapped home the opener for the Binos in the 18th minute after Alex Mitchell had saved Ryan’s effort. Ryan dusted himself down to slot home from 12 yards after being fouled in the box by Owen Moxon in the 55th minute.

Annan got themselves back into the game through a Max Wright header on the hour mark before the Galabankies had Tony Wallace red-carded for a second booking in injury time.
