Dan’s dream of top flight isn’t over yet

-

DAN ARMSTRONG has urged Raith not to give up on their Premiership dream.

The winger’s double either side of half-time helped Rovers stay second despite Jack Hamilton and Ricky Little hitting back to earn Arbroath a point.

Armstrong said: “Apart from Hearts, we’re the only team that’s been in the top four all season. We don’t want to drop out now.

“We’ve come straight up from League One to do what we’re doing this season. It’s a fantastic group of boys and everyone knows what it would mean to get in that top four.

“Third place or second place is everyone’s ambition. We started believing it from very early in the season and we just need to see it out now.

“Keep putting in big performances, one last push and hopefully we can get there.

“The Livingston manager even came out and said it’d be a pleasure to see us in

the top league. Not many in Scottish football play the football that we do.

“If we did manage to get the chance to go up, I think we’d kick on even more. That’s the mentality the manager and boys have.

“We all need to believe in ourselves, hopefully we get there. It’s all about belief.”

Arbroath boss Dick Campbell hailed the commitment of Little after his leveller earned a vital point in their survival bid.

He said: “Ricky travels up from Ardrossan to Perth for training and I can count on my hand the number of times he’s missed training.

“I told him to take a day off a couple of weeks back and he appeared on the Wednesday night.

“I said to him, ‘why have you not taken the day off? and he said, ‘I’ve plenty time to take a night off when I’m finished’. His attitude is magnificent.”
