Horror as gunman goes on rampage
AT least eight people have been killed and five wounded in another mass shooting in the US.
A “screaming” gunman went on a latenight rampage, mowing strangers down with an automatic weapon.
Witnesses saw a hooded man fire “at random” at fleeing drivers after pulling up outside a FedEx warehouse at about 11pm on Thursday.
One victim reportedly died after getting a gun from his car and trying to fight back. Five gunshot victims were taken to hospital and others treated at the site in Indianapolis.
The gunman is believed to have shot himself when police arrived.
The carnage was the 147th mass shooting in the US this year.
,Jeremiah Miller described the terror: “I heard six shots at once, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang bang.
“I see a man, a hooded figure. The man did have a submachine gun of some sort, an automatic rifle in his hand, and he started shouting and then he started firing
“I saw a dead body, right behind a vehicle. It started off in the parking lot and went into the building and back into the parking lot.”
He said the man was “screaming” and “yelling stuff I could not understand”. Jeremiah added: “I ducked down to make sure he did not see me. My initial thought was ‘don’t die and escape’ but when I saw people roll up for the midnight shift I felt the need to warn them.”
Praminder Singh said his niece was shot through her car window as she sat in the parking lot: “She got a shot on her left arm, she’s fine, she’s in hospital .”
Police said the attack “probably only lasted one to two minutes.”
Last month, eight people were shot dead in three massage parlours in Atlanta, Georgia. Less than a week later a gunman shot dead 10 in Colorado.
