Hart has gone from Celts now

-

JOHN HARTSON has admitted old club Celtic face a massive rebuild.

The former Parkhead hitman has been left stunned by the way Hoops have lost their title to Rangers – and he hit out after their Scottish Cup reign was ended at Ibrox.

Hartson said: “To lose the league by 20 points, there is a lot of work to be done.

“It’s incredible to think they were so far ahead, I was actually going about telling people they will do 12, 13, 14 in a row, they were that far ahead at one point.

“Scott Brown is leaving the club, Peter Lawwell is leaving after many years and Celtic at this moment are still searching for a manager. There’s not even a manager in place.

“In terms of players leaving, who is coming and going, who is making those big decisions?

“There are players at Celtic on loan, there are players out on loan, the two big players Edouard and Ajer will probably leave, Christie has one year left.

“There is so much work to be done staff wise and player wise.”

Hartson was told on Premier Sports how Gers’ Twitter account hailed “the best team in the country” and the Welshman added: “They beat them all season, not just today. We haven’t touched them.

“To play for Celtic or Rangers you have got to be a certain type, a certain character. You’ve got to have a winning mentality.

“Celtic have had the winning mentality for nine years but you look at the recruitment. People don’t think Scott Bain is good enough to continue in goal. They need a goalkeeper.

“Ajeti, no pass marks. Duffy, not up to pass marks. Laxalt, not up to pass marks, I could go on.

“You can’t just replace players who won’t be here next year, they have to be of a certain quality.”
