The competition world isn’t the best ..it destroys the way a healthy body’s meant to be MOTSI MABUSE ON HOW HER BODY IMAGE HAS CHANGED AS A DANCER

I’m a mum, a businesswoman and other things.. what is that meant to look like?

ON GETTING HER BODY RIGHT FOR HER HEALTH AND MIND

received comments on her weight on social media but tries to focus on what she thinks about her appearance, and her own sense of wellbeing. She is also unimpressed at suggestions she edited recent photos, insisting that they are the result of the hard work she has put in this year. The idea of not altering photos to create unrealistic images is

MOTSI particularly important to her, in case that gives the wrong idea to any impressionable followers. She said: “I’m worried about young girls feeling pressure from social media on how they should look. We need the voices speaking about self care to be louder.”

But criticism of her weight is not the only thing that concerns Motsi about social media. She has also had to deal with racist comments.

“It’s not a question of whether it happens, it’s a fact,” she said sadly. “It always impacts on me, and I have to reflect and kind of get back to myself.

“I share my vulnerability with my family and friends so they can support me in that moment.” She is pleased to see the current conversations on race addressing what still needs to change in this country but is clear that for things to really improve every single person must get involved.

“It’s great that we have people that are actively engaged in multiplying the voices but it’s not enough if only black people speak about race,” she said. “It has to be an inclusive conversation with everybody having a voice and everybody choosing a side.” Motsi, who grew up in Pretoria in South Africa before moving to Germany, added: “The days of being vague are over. Either you are, or you are not, and you need to be loud about it.”

Whether Motsi returns to Strictly this year is up in the air after she signed up for the Let’s Dance tour which is scheduled to run at the same time.

The tour for the German TV show, which she also judges, is scheduled for November – although Craig Revel Horwood has reassured viewers that it might be possible for her to fly back and forth.

Her sister Oti said earlier this week that she feels the 2021 series will be her last, which has caught Motsi by surprise. She said: “I need to speak with Oti, I don’t think we would say anything like that without speaking with the family.” ● To sign up to myWW+ go to ww. com/JoinMotsi and see how WW can work for you.
