Meanwhile, royal sources said the Queen was “incredibly saddened” to learn trusted adviser Sir Michael Oswald, 86, had died after a long illness on the day of Philip’s funeral.
Sir Michael had a key role in the Queen and the Queen Mother’s racing interests for nearly 30 years.
He was the Queen’s ex-manager of the Royal Studs.
His widow, Lady Angela, told the Racing Post: “He always said he had the most wonderful job anybody could ever have.”
