FIERY DRAW RILES BOTH BOSSES

INVERNESS CT .... 1 DUNDEE ......

- ALASDAIR FRASER AT CALEDONIAN STADIUM

NEIL McCANN and James McPake both turned fire on referee Mike Roncone after a chaotic finish.

The Inverness boss will appeal second-half red cards for Scott Allardice and Brad Mckay, saying both were undeserved.

The Dundee boss was fuming at a disallowed Jason Cummings header that would have put his side 1-0 ahead with 10 minutes left. Instead nine-man Caley Thistle struck when Dan MacKay raced clear to clip home only for Lee Ashcroft’s header from a corner to level after 86 minutes.

McCann said: “Scott Allardice has gone in hard on Charlie Adam, of that there’s no doubt, but it’s a physical game. He’s gone low and won the ball. His follow-through maybe caught Charlie but Scott is adamant it wasn’t even a booking.

“I can back him on that because I’ve seen it.

“Brad Mckay’s is just plain wrong – a shocking decision. Both will be appealed and hopefully we’ll be full strength for Hearts. Our players again showed remarkable character and what a good side they are.”

The draw left Dundee one win away from the play-offs with Raith at home and Queen of the South away to come.

Caley Thistle need victories at Hearts and at home to Ayr, plus possible favours, but remain in the fight.

Dens boss McPake said: “I’ve got the luxury of seeing the disallowed one back and it was a good goal.

“We wanted to cement the play-off place tonight but it didn’t happen. We have a massive game now on Saturday against Raith Rovers.

“We will need to be a lot better than we were first half tonight.

“That’s twice we’ve been up here and robbed through officiating.”
