Man by Man
ABERDEEN
JOE LEWIS 7
The big keeper made a good early save and couldn’t be blamed for the goal. Vital stop at the end.
ROSS McCRORIE 7
Commanding in the first half but left walking a tightrope after his booking at end of first period. Decent display.
DECLAN GALLAGHER 7
Strong and aggressive in challenge. Decent performance considering he hasn’t had a lot of playing time. ANDREW CONSIDINE 2 Veteran had a nightmare trip. His match lasted just 15 minutes before stretchered off with what looks a concerning knee injury.
CALVIN RAMSAY 6
Tried to get forward but never got into positions where he could hurt Qarabag. More good experience.
SCOTT BROWN 6
The captain’s influence of familiar surroundings was important. He battled in the middle of the park but it was a tough shift.
LEWIS FERGUSON 7
Midfielder went into the top 150 appearances in an Aberdeen jersey. He really came alive in the second half with an all-action display.
JACK MacKENZIE 6
Solid and powerful at left-back and when he moved in one, though he was left out of position at the goal. Set-plays could have been better.
JAY EMMANUEL-THOMAS 4
Striker did well defending at set-plays but didn’t hold ball up well enough at top end. Lacked mobility, no surprise to see him replaced.
CHRISTIAN RAMIREZ 5
Quiet night. He struggled to get going on a poor pitch. Did have a late chance but didn’t catch it.
FUNSO OJO 6
Belgian has made name for himself in recent weeks with strong running but couldn’t do that on this surface. SUBS: Jonny Hayes (Considine 15) – Gave good energy, 5; Connor McLennan (Emmanuel-Thomas 45) – On to add more pace, 4. Not used: Woods, McGinn, McGeouch, Jenks, Gurr, Campbell, Ritchie, Ngwenya, Hancock.
