THE SATURDAY JURY

-

In with a great shout of making it a magical week. Celtic and Rangers should be fine, Aberdeen can beat Qarabag when they get back on grass and there’s something special about this St Johnstone side.

Yes, in the short term. Juranovic is a Croatia cap and will end up first pick but Ralston has proved he has a big part to play at Parkhead.

It’s looking like second-album syndrome. Gers hit incredible levels last season but it’s brutally hard to maintain it. New signings usually give the boost but the recent recruits haven’t made the needed impact.

The Lawman was genuinely world class. Right up there with the likes of Dalglish, Johnstone, Souness and Bremner.

Scotland’s four clubs are all still in good position. Getting three or more through would be a brilliant outcome.

On form, yes. But reality says Celtic aren’t spending nearly £3million on a back-up.

Hard to say. Might be a bit of rust, maybe some uncertainty surrounding key players. They will get better.

Law will always be one of Scotland’s greatest in his own right. Rankings alongside others don’t matter.

With a bit of luck we could have all four making the group stage. Rangers will have to heed Steven Gerrard’s wake-up call but Celtic should finish the job against Alkmaar. Aberdeen should have a better chance on a decent pitch and St Johnstone have nothing to fear at home to LASK.

CELTIC are bringing in right-back Josip Juranovic but does Anthony Ralston merit keeping his place?

He certainly could not have done any more to prove he should hold on to the jersey. But it also appears Ralston is playing to his maximum potential which may not be enough if Juranovic can go to the next level.

WHAT’S the main reason for Rangers’ sluggish start to the season?

Complacency, judging by Gerrard’s words in the wake of Thursday’s Alashkert win. It appears that the champions have sleepwalked into the new season, still daydreaming about last season’s title triumph. They need to switch on, pronto.

Scotland’s only Ballon d’Or winner and joint record scorer – that makes him top of the list for me. Dalglish runs him close having also netted 30 goals for his country but given Law hit that tally in 55 caps compared to King Kenny’s 102, the Lawman is No.1.
