I’ve swapped Hull hell for dream move to Hibs

-

HULL could easily have been substituted for Hell for Hibs new boy James Scott.

The Scotland Under-21 cap made a big-money move from Motherwell and did his ankle in his first training session.

He fought back and injured his ankle again then on top of that contracted Covid. So when the striker got the chance to join Hibs on loan last week he jumped at the chance to get his career back on track.

Scott said: “I did my ankle 50 seconds into my first training session and I was out for the season. We were doing a possession box and I just went over my ankle.

“I carried on, training all the way through the session which probably wasn’t the best idea. But I just felt I couldn’t be injured on the first day.

“I came back, did it again, came back, got Covid. I’ve just had no luck so me and the gaffer [Grant McCann] at Hull had a word and we felt this was the best place for me to go and get some game time.

“I just want to show what I can do and hopefully the Hibs fans will be behind me.

“Coming back I am definitely mentally stronger and I”m physically stronger as well.

“I was only 18 at the time so it was all hard to take in. That’s the downside to football but you have to take the positives and I’ve now signed for this massive club which is a relief.”

stint with Celtic – reckons the Parkhead club have secured a gem for a cut-price fee.

He said: “I can not come to terms with a couple of things here. Why on earth did Legia not negotiate with Celtic so he could play against Slavia in the second leg?

“If Juranovic was a player for

Dinamo Zagreb, for example, Celtic would have paid a lot more for him – probably three times what they gave Legia.

“Legia achieved a great result in the away leg in the Czech Republic and they have a good chance of progressing and then they do this?

“They have a very good chance of playing in the group stages of the Europa League but now they are struggling for players.

“It would have been a nice way for Juranovic to say goodbye properly in what would have been a great occasion.

“But Legia have shot themselves in the foot with this. It’s not the first time in history Legia have done this either. A few years ago, they sold Miroslav Radovic to China after the first leg of a European tie against Ajax.

“You would think they would learn from their mistakes.”
