Juranovic I love how Celts play
JOSIP JURANOVIC admits he was sold on Celtic by Ange Postecoglou’s swashbuckling style.
The £2.6million signing from Legia Warsaw has been handed the No.88 shirt previously worn by Gary Hooper and Eboue Kouassi.
Croatia right-back Juranovic is ineligible for tomorrow’s Europa League clash with AZ Alkmaar but
is set for a dramatic debut in Sunday’s Old Firm showdown at Ibrox.
The 26-year-old has been studying manager Postecoglou’s style of play and feels he’ll fit right in.
He said: “I’m a team player. I want to show my ability in defending but also crossing, assisting, running, pushing and giving everything to win the game.
“I’ve watched the games this season and the team look really good.
“I like the manager’s style of attacking football and the fact that every player plays in the opposing team’s half. I’m really looking forward to playing in this system.”
Juranovic insists he’s raring to go after a rave review from Legia legend and former Hoops hero Artur Boruc.
The defender is now determined to follow the success of his Polish pal.
He said: “Artur said it was a great opportunity for me. It’s a big stage and a great club. He’s also part of the reason I am here.
“I want to see myself on this stage and I want to give everything here.”
Juranovic signed off from Legia in sensational fashion with a 25-yard rocket in their Europa League clash with Slavia Prague last week.
The Croat – who faced Scotland at Hampden in this summer’s Euros – was just as stunned with the strike but he’d love to repeat the feat at Parkhead.
He said: “I received the ball on the halfway line and saw the space.
“I ran into it and after a few seconds I thought about having a shot.
“I didn’t believe I’d scored at first but after about five seconds I was really happy.
“You can see that my celebration was a total disaster but I really enjoyed the moment.
“Can I do something similar at Celtic Park? I hope so!”
