The abuse Kris Boyd received and the effigy hanging from the stand at Parkhead that was allowed to happen was wrong. Not as innocent as they make out.”

There was a bit of flag talk, with John MacKenzie, Partick, saying: “I see that Record Sport’s Keith Jackson is reporting that Rangers might have to design their own Champions flag.

“May I point out that ‘cinch’ are this season’s sponsors-elect and not last season’s.”

Brian Ross emailed: ‘Can Jackson, perhaps, ask the SPFL a pertinent question such as, ‘Why are last season’s league winners being provided with flags bearing the badge of this season’s sponsors?’

“Shouldn’t it be last season’s sponsor’s badge? Oops, who was last season’s sponsor again?”

Finally, Andy Adams, Kirkcaldy, isn’t over the moon with the Scotland manager’s contract extension. He said: “So we’ve got Steve Clarke till 2024. Why? We were abysmal in the Euros, only scored one goal and lost two games at home.
